Wooden Guttering on Grade 2 listed building

This was a grade 2 listed building that was dated around 1850 , copying an arts and craft style but originally wooden guttering was mainly an Elizabethan method of collecting the rain water.Interestingly the construction method ie the build up of layers was exactly the same as it would have been 500 years before. In total 9 layers are required to be bespokely cut before the lead can be added.Old Amersham High Street has at least 20 properties with examples of wooden guttering some of which date back more than 500 years.
