Back on these large, modern sash windows, we started work on the sashes themselves. Where the window wouldn’t close correctly, a previous owner of the property had tried to force the window shut, damaging the meeting rails.

We cleaned up the damaged area and jointed in a new rebate for each sash, copying the original design exactly.

With the repaired meeting rails in place, we could refit the sashes and make any minor adjustments necessary to ensure the window wasn’t the cause of any more frustration in the house.
