This fixed panel, part of a set of French doors, was rotting through from the outside all the way into the inside. A few creepy crawlies had moved in and were living off the rotten timber window. The previous owner had filled over the damage but the insects had made their way through the filler too.
This repair required a full replacement of the bottom rail and lower sections of the stiles. It also required some repairs to the sill with Accoya. Finally, we reglazed the double glazed unit to prevent future problems with rain water getting into the timber.
