This is an old Magnet window (stormproof) the orginal sill was made in softwood and the exposed part of the wooden sill had rotted.Instead of re- mortising and tenoning a new Accoya sill into the existing , another way is to simply plant on with glue an extended sill. The trick here and is essential is to make an exact 90 degree cut in both directions and to make sure the long gluing surface is also finished exactly 100% flat too so as to make a perfect gluing surface .This is easily achieved by spending a few minutes making a basic template first and the use of razor sharp Sheffield still paring chisel to finish it off.
