Window repair near Amersham

This storm proof casement window was showing signs of rot on it’s bottom rail and to some of the stile. This is a typical area to see rot on a timber window as it takes the brunt of the weather.

After removing the areas of rot, we jointed in a replacement bottom rail in Accoya, an acetylated pine which has the longest rot resistance of any timber product available. This quality makes it perfect for the task at hand and will give this sash many years of service at a fraction of the cost of a replacement.

We finished the repair with some new putty around the glazing and a coat of primer.
