These new wooden sliding sash windows are made using 1st grade joinery standard softwood that has been pressure treated and is guaranteed to not rot for at least 30 years. The old windows were aluminium casements but originally they would have been sliding sash windows. This creates a challenge when fitting new box frames into their original space because the previous fitter would have filled the void with lots of odd bricks, odd timbers and lots of expandable foam .All this has to be removed to make the original space required to accommodate the new box frames and can take a long time to locate all the fixings. Most of the fitting was executed by Rob who was fitting sliding sash windows for the first time and finished off the linings and architraving Peter Perfectly ,while i enjoyed a bacon sandwich.
