Part of a package of repairs, we started with these French doors. They had previously been repaired in hardwood, with mixed results. We prioritised the failed repairs first, using Accoya rather than hardwood for it’s stability and rot resistance.

With a more traditional approach to repairs, matching the species and grain of the original timber is important. This is a typical example of a repair failing due to a poor matching of wood species. However, with Accoya, it’s stability makes it suitable for a wider range of applications.
