Nearly all 30 of these windows needed repairing with new external Accoya margin planks , some of them need new sills too and completely new glazing bar were need on the french door Georgian glazing bars as they had all rotted to nothing.The windows were only 15 years old and supplied and fitted by a sliding sash window company based in Windsor , these were guarenteed to be made in Oak but in reality were really made in pine .Worth noting that this is a common story and that this company is still trading today , so be careful.

These 300 year old pair of sliding sash windows were in need of a full repair including a completely new sill to be re-jointed and most of the external marginal planks and pulley stiles needed replacing too . 6 panes need replacing using old cylinder glass and all re-puttyed and paint stripped ready for the painter.The left hand side has subsided so a lot of work was put into making the meeting rails meet in the middle perfectly having previously been 2 inches out of line . 4 1/2 days plus 5 metres of wood.
