This dormer window was a victim of poor material selection in the form of untreated softwood. Unfortunately, it wasn’t worth repairing, so we made a new pressure treated softwood window and fitted it with the latest argon filled double glazed units.

Pressure treated softwood has superior rot resistance to hardwood and once decorated, it will far outlast a uPVC window.

To ensure the window was weather-tight against the tiles, we fitted rebated linings which seal the edges.

This double casement was on the righthand side a bathroom and on the lefthand side a bedroom.It had been played around with over the years and the original head of the window was still there and had never been removed after the previous window change for lintel /support purposes. It was decided to leave it there again to save on costs and to make a window exactly the same size as the window we were replacing.This meant make new fillet pieces top and bottom .The bottom was tongue and grooved while the top was biscuit jointed.Also trickle vents were installed.

This little toilet window was glazed using a bespoke star design exactly how the customer wanted .Each star was 12mm wide and was put together by our glaziers design time.It was a very expensive unit though and came in at £250 inc. vat .ouch!

This was 2 x triple casements windows with fixed glazing left and right and a middle opener .Most on the front windows on this road have been changed over the years , all done with varying degrees of badness, but our windows were perfectly proportioned to create an in keeping appearance while being double glazed to the last specifications .

10 x new wooden windows in Chesham

These new windows were made entirely in hardwood for a property that was previously a school.The windows were originally sliding sash but the openings had been converted to casement frames in the 80’s when PVC was installed.We need to copy like for like the back windows that had been replaced by a now retired joiner 10 years before.6 x 2 timbers were added to the jambs to beef them up to fit the original box frame openings in ordered to gain a proper fixing.

These 2 x triple casement storm proof sash windows were for a listed building in Naphill.The existing windows were so rotten that it wasn’t economical to repair them.The new windows matched the original windows exactly and came pressure treated so as to not show any signs of rot for 30 years.New lead and tiling was required for the sides and the roof needed supporting because the window was structural. Cost £2800 inc vat made ,glazed and fitted.
