<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This exterior Victorian pine panel door was structurally solid, but over the years the bottom 18 inches of the door had suffered as rain worked its way into the panels and bottom rail.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="768" height="1024" src="https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/1-3-768x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1394" srcset="https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/1-3-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/1-3-225x300.jpg 225w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/1-3-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/1-3.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Being made from high quality Baltic pine, most of the panels were in good condition, despite 150 years of standing up to the elements. In the interest of preserving as much of the original door as possible, we only machined away the rotten part of the panels.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="768" height="1024" src="https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/2-2-768x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1395" srcset="https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/2-2-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/2-2-225x300.jpg 225w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/2-2-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/2-2.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Whilst machining, we created a rebate for the repair to join to. At the bottom, we machined a groove into the bottom rail which would take a tongue of the repair.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We were then ready to made the repair sections of the door from Accoya.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="768" height="1024" src="https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/3-1-768x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1396" srcset="https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/3-1-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/3-1-225x300.jpg 225w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/3-1-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/3-1-848x1131.jpg 848w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/3-1-520x694.jpg 520w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/3-1-260x347.jpg 260w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/3-1.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This complex repair kept as much of the original door as possible whilst the use of acetylated pine for the repair means the most exposed parts of the door are protected by the best possible materials.</p>
