<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This window in Beaconsfield from the 1960’s was suffering rot caused by condensation running down the single glazing and into the wooden frame between the glass and the rebate.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It was time for a replacement. By copying the original look of the window frame but this time introducing modern double glazing, we were able to maintain the original character of the window whilst stopping the condensation problem.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="768" src="https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG-20240303-WA0005-1024x768.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1213" srcset="https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG-20240303-WA0005-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG-20240303-WA0005-300x225.jpg 300w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG-20240303-WA0005-768x576.jpg 768w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG-20240303-WA0005-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://joinery-shop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG-20240303-WA0005.jpg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">U value is a measure of how building materials transfer heat: the lower the value, the better the insulation. For comparison, the original glazing had a U value of 6.0 whilst the new 4-16-4, warm-edge, argon filled unit has a U value of 0.9.</p>
